River Report
Check current streamflow conditions for: Montana or Idaho
Been tough getting an update out the last few weeks -- fishing has been very good to excellant! Look for Fall fishing to be at its best
with the change in weather this week.
This will be the last report for the season, any questions give the shop a call at 800-854-9559 -- I'll be having by-pass surgery this
week and won't have access to the computer for a week or so. Have a great WInter.
Flow at Hebgen below 800cfs. Below Quake, has been great with hoppers and ants but don't be afraid to start tossing the zonkers
and coneheads. The Browns are on the prowl and very aggressive.
Olive and Copper Zonkers 2-6, Cone Bow Buggers Copper, Slump Buster Copper, Delekta Screamers and Woolhead Sculpin.
The Gallatin - the colder mornings mean you have time for an extra cup of jo. Still a few terrestrials but look for BWOs on the nastier
days or run a big bugger through the deeper spots.
Hebgen – about 94%. One of the best Gulper years has come to an end and now those big browns and rainbows are staging at the
mouths of the Madison, South Fork and Grayling. Try stripping streamers.
Quake Lake - Same as Hebgen
Henry's Lake – Cooler weather should kick this into high gear.

No new fishing regs for the Park this year, just remember "All Barbless".
The road between Madison Jct and Norris is now closed for the season.
During the closure they will be building
a new bridge across the Gibbon River and revamping the areas above and below Gibbon Falls. This is the completion of the project
that was started 7 or 8 years ago. Trips from West Yellowstone to the Lamar Valley must go around Yellowstone Lake (an extra 48+
miles, plan on at least 3 hours from West Yellowstone to Tower Junction.
The ARNICA Fire is sending a huge plume of smoke over by the West Thumb -- periodic road closures have taken place the last
couple of days - rain and snow showers are forecast for mid week this should help.
The Firehole has been producing best in the morning and evenings but the weather change this week should make for all day
action. The ever present Miller Caddis and BWOs will be your top choice.
HOH CDC Tan Caddis 14-16, CDC Caddis Emergers, BH PT Soft Hackle, Flash Green Soft Hackle, Blooms Olive Soft Hackle, Para
Biot BWO 16-20, BWO Hackle Stacker 18-20, BWO Sparkle Dun 16-20.
The Madison has been spectacular this past week -- finally good flows, a full lake combined to get these fish moving up on
their pre spawn run. FWP still has a "fish trap" set below Bakers Hole but this hasn't seemed to impead the run. Black Girdle Bugs
8-12, BH Prince 6-14, King Prince 14, BH PT Soft Hackle, Slump Busters, Olive and Copper Zonkers all seem to be working.
Flows into the Box down to 440 cfs. Rubber Legs and Zebra Midges in the Box. Low water on the Ranch has the flow channeled
through the weed beds, easier to spot the fish than it is to catch them. Work BWOs, and Mahoganies.
Another great time at Deadmans Cay, more big schools (1000+) of bones than we have ever seen. They are sold out through June of
this
year, I'll post availability and rates as soon as I have them for next Season.
